Why Catamaran Training Is Different
Multihulls respond differently to wind and throttle. They don’t heel like monohulls. They rely heavily on twin engine maneuvering. Their wider beam changes docking strategy and marina approach. Anchoring dynamics differ. Sail trim balance changes. Load management matters.
ASA 114 focuses specifically on these distinctions so you’re not simply adapting monohull habits to a different platform.
Over two consecutive days and one overnight stay aboard, you’ll gain hands on experience operating and living aboard a cruising catamaran in real Tacoma area waters.
