This means that after this class, you will have the ability to charter and skipper a boat up to 27' for day sailing in normal weather without any supervision. This also makes you eligible to join our sailing club - an easy way to get regular time on the water without buying a boat of your own!
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
On one of our sub 27' boats you will learn all about:Terminology
Points of Sail
Trimming the Sails
Outboard Motor Operation
Buoyage Tacking/Jibing
Person Overboard
Sailing Knots
Basic Docking
Safety and Navigation Rules
WHAT TO EXPECT
The 'classroom' portion of the class will be done prior to the class in the form of online video and textbook. This allows you to maximize your time out on the water with 15 hours of on-boat instruction and concludes with a 1 hour ASA exam. This is a two-day class from 9am-6pm with one instructor and up to four students. Class includes: textbook, online video, ASA log-book, ASA certification and 15 hours of on the water instruction.
