What our students say:'.... It is easy to see why you are an “all galaxy” sailing instructor for the ASA. You’ve got it all...the knowledge and the great ability to reach each student at their own level of need. Rare indeed. It was a pleasure to watch you work. I look forward to my son Mike and I taking the ASA 104 class together next' - 103 student & club member
'Mike Rice lived up to his reputation. He handled the group well and taught to each persons' level expertly.'
'Mike, thank you so much for such a great class and adventure! It is always a great treat and privilege to learn from you and absorb your knowledge.' - J & J Andrews
Mike Rice was our instructor for the ASA 101 course and what a great teacher he is! My boyfriend and I have ZERO sailing experience and I can't even put into words how much we learned over the two day course! We spent so much time on the water which was incredibly exciting since I expected primarily a classroom setting. Mike is so encouraging, incredibly knowledgeable, was willing to explain concepts to me in multiple different ways until I actually got it, and made the whole process fun. We can't wait to take the 103 class this weekend! If you're at all interested in learning how to sail, this place is incredible. Even if you have ZERO experience, don't hesitate!

Home to 5 asa outstanding instructors |
Over the past 14 months, we have taken three American Sailing Association classes through Puget Sound Sailing Institute and belonged to their sailing club. This is THE place to take sailing lessons in the Pacific Northwest! Incredible instructors - very knowledgeable, thorough content and hands on experience of the lessons, access to boats immediately after achieving your ASA 101 Basic Keelboat certification. If you are wanting to try something new or have always wanted to sail - this is your place. Their passion will become yours!
YELP review from Jackie S. 'Great, patient instructors (Arthur and Mike J). They made a scared student a calm, confident one.' 'He has such a positive approach to his method of instruction and most of all, you can really tell how much Stephen Lane loves sailing; it has a very contagious effect on the class.'
'Dreamed of doing this for over a decade. This course met every expectation and more. Delightful, fun and very informative. Provided a relaxed learning environment which is always helpful.'
