ASA 101 - Basic Keelboat

WHAT DOES BASIC KEELBOAT MEAN?
This means that after this class, you will have the ability to charter and skipper a boat up to 27' for day sailing in normal weather without any supervision. This also makes you eligible to join our sailing club - an easy way to get regular time on the water without buying a boat of your own!

What to expect
The 'classroom' portion of the class will be done prior to the class in the form of online video and textbook. This allows you to maximize your time out on the water with 15 hours of on-boat instruction and concludes with a 1 hour ASA exam. This is a two-day class from 9am-6pm with one instructor and up to four students. Class includes: textbook, online video, ASA log-book, ASA certification and 15 hours of on the water instruction.

This means that after this class, you will have the ability to charter and skipper a boat for extended overnight trips in all weather conditions. If you are a sailing club member, this class allows you to take the boats out overnight!

This means that after this class, you will have the ability to charter and skipper a boat on your own with no hired crew. Ever want to charter your own boat in the San Juans, British Virgin Islands, Tahiti, Hawaii, Greece? Then this is the class for you! Mike is a charter broker so can charter you a boat (this will save you money and time!) and provide you with all of his expertise in sailing around these exotic waters.

What to expect
This class takes a full weekend - 48 hours aboard + 1 hour ASA exam. Hours vary based on location. (Friday 12pm-Sunday 12pm OR Friday 5pm - Sunday 5pm). There will be one instructor and a maximum of five students. As this is an overnight class, you will be sharing a stateroom with a person of the same gender or the person you signed up with. This class includes: textbook, online video, ASA certification, provisioning , and 48 hours aboard the yacht.

This class includes: two textbooks, online video, ASA certification, provisioning , and three days of instruction.

This class takes place on a beautiful Jeanneau 46'. You will set sail from Anacortes, WA and enjoy five full days sailing around the San Juan Islands. Class starts at noon on day one and ends at noon on day 5. You will take both the 103 and 104 . There will be one instructor and a maximum of four students or 3 households. As this is an overnight class, you will be sharing a stateroom with a person of the same gender or the person you signed up with*. This class includes: two textbooks, two online lectures, ASA certifications, provisioning , and five days of instruction. Transportation to and from Anacortes is not included.
