Tonga June 24th - July 2nd, 2008 |

Experience what the South Pacific was like 40 years ago!! This is an experience to be savored. Your dream learning vacation begins with a flight via Los Angeles to Tonga for a night of relaxation and exploration from the hotel base (hotel optional). The next morning, we will pick up our yacht. We'll have eight days aboard with a combination of lagoon gunkholing and exciting trade wind sailing. You'll be learning, sailing and exploring the 64 islands of the Vava'u group of Tonga. |
Highlights of the Vavu'u Group are calm waters, short distances between anchorages and incredible snorkeling with 100'-150' visibility. After disembarking (depending on air schedules), we'll board for our return trip home. Summer (which is winter in the Southern Hemisphere) is the ideal time to be in Tonga, with air temperatures in the low 80's, little precipitation and steady trade winds. Their summer (our winter) is the rainy season with hot, humid temperatures and the chance of storms. |
