INSTRUCTOR Michael Rice, veteran of seven Pacific crossings, Coast Guard and ASA Certified Instructor through Offshore Passagemaking and owner of Puget Sound Sailing. Mike has sailed over 80,000 nautical miles. He is also the unprecedented winner of the ASA Instructor of the Year six times (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and again in 2005)! Join Mike on a trip you won’t forget! PACKAGE INCLUDES The Swiftsure Race course travels 100 nautical miles from Victoria B.C. to Cape Flattery and back. Sail aboard Mike’s Beneteau 1st 435 and enjoy these further benefits: 1) Sailing 5, Spinnaker Handling class in Tacoma (prior to race, see brochure for dates) 2) Friday, May 23 - training sail to Victoria, B.C. 3) Saturday, Sunday, May 24-25 – The Race! 4) Monday, May 26 - sail home PRE-REQUISITES ASA Certification in Basic Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, and Bareboat Chartering.
